Upcoming Opportunities
New Grant opportunity: EPA’s new Environmental and ClimateJustice Community Change Grants program (Community Change Grants) willinvest approximately $2 billion in Inflation Reduction Act funds inenvironmental and climate justice activities to benefit disadvantagedcommunities through projects that reduce pollution, increase communityclimate resilience, and build community capacity to respond to environmentaland climate justice challenges. These place-based investments will befocused on community-driven initiatives to be responsive to community and
stakeholder input. EPA expects most awards will be between $10-20 million
for multi-faceted projects addressing a range of pollution, climate change,and other priority issues. For more information and a list of eligible activities,please click here. Indirect Cost Rates: This training webinar is intended to provide anunderstanding of how indirect cost rates are calculated and approved. Inaddition, we will review EPA’s Indirect Cost Rate Policy and the Indirect CostRate Agreement Term and Condition, and review which rates are allowablefor the different recipient types. We will also discuss how to properly apply anapproved rate to its approved base and how to apply the 10% de minimisindirect cost rate correctly.

Water Technical Assistance: Communities can request no-cost directWaterTA to evaluate their drinking water, wastewater, stormwaterinfrastructure, and water quality improvement needs. EPA's WaterTAprograms offer a wide range of services, including:
· Identifying water infrastructure or water quality improvement needs
· Planning for capital improvements
· Building technical, managerial, and financial capacity
· Preparing for and developing application materials for financing a project
through the SRFs or other EPA-supported funding opportunities

How to Prepare Your Utility for Disasters: Join the US EPA for a freewebinar on how to prepare your utility for disasters! This webinar willdemonstrate how to create a Risk and Resilience Assessment (RRA) and
Emergency Response Plan (ERP) using fire and cybersecurity scenarios,
provide information on a new opportunity where operators may be eligible toearn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for creating an RRA and ERP, andshare 10 quick and easy tips on how to prepare your utility for disasters. the Water Quality Division Manager at the Washington Suburban
Sanitary Commission (WSSC), will share his experience supporting theresponse to a 2016 oil spill incident on the Potomac River. The conversationwill also focus on key lessons learned to enhance preparedness for managingcontamination incidents.

Equitable Resilience Builder: EPA’s Equitable Resilience Builder (ERB) is a
scientific tool developed using human-centered design and engagescommunity members in resilience planning to generate solutions thatadvance equity. The tool contains activities for listening to local voices(trauma-informed engagement strategies, storytelling, participatorymapping) and conducting collaborative assessment of hazards, resilience and
equity, to build community connections and identify actions to strengthen
resilience in ways that address the needs of those made vulnerable by socialand environmental inequalities. This presentation will provide an overview ofthe ERB application and walk through examples of community building andengagement techniques that center equity in resilience planning.
