Members of the Commission:
In lieu of a vote for the open seat on the Commission please accept this leLer of support for
Emma Bode’s applicaFon for the City Commission. I first met Emma in 2021 when we were both
appointed to the Sustainability Advisory Board. I have had the pleasure of serving as co-chair
alongside her as board chair.
Emma is passionate, prepared, and professional. She serves in her posiFon with integrity. On
the few occasions where I have filled her shoes, my job serving as chair in her absence has been
a breeze. Her analyFcal approach with her outsized empathy leU me feeling cared for and able
to pick up the gavel without missing a beat, to run a meeFng without inconvenience to myself,
the board, or city staff. She has conFnuously shown a desire to improve meeFngs, seeking input
from the board members and city staff before during, and aUer meeFngs, fine-tuning her
process every Fme.
Emma has demonstrated her commitment to our community Fme and again. She is a natural
convener with a desire to bring the city's prioriFes to life with inclusivity and care for our
natural resources. The members of the commission would be lucky to welcome Emma Bode.
