Dear Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Commissioners:
My name is Suzanne Held and I live at 313 N. Grand Avenue. I am an active member of the Northeast
Neighborhood Association (NENA) and serve as our representative on the Interneighborhood
Council.
I’m writing to support Jason Delmue for the open city commission seat. I have worked with Jason on
both social and business-related NENA activities over the past several years. I find Jason to be an
excellent listener who is open to listening to and considering all sides of issues. Jason and I don’t
always take the same side on issues, but I always feel listened to and that he has considered and
respected my opinions. He is dedicated to understanding what is happening in our city, spending
countless hours volunteering on boards and listening to and providing input. He knows the UDC draft
very well, is very intelligent and works to develop a deep understanding of issues facing our city. He
is also a giving community member – I learned the other week that he volunteered to be a “snow
angel” last winter to help clear sidewalks for a couple who could not do it themselves. He did this
without asking and without fanfare. To sum, I think this is how he would serve on the commission:
listen to and respectfully consider everyone’s opinion, consider issues with the greater good in mind,
give selflessly of his time, and learn deeply about the issues in front of the commission.
Thank you for taking my public comment. Suzanne Held. 313 N. Grand Ave.
