Ladies and Gentlemen of the City Commission,
I wish to comment briefly on the upcoming appointment of a new City Commissioner to fill
the seat recently vacated by I-Ho Pomeroy.
I do not know who would best serve in this position. However, I do believe that neither MarkEgge nor Jason Delemue would serve the citizens of Bozeman well as a member of the City
Commission.
Mark Egge seems to be strongly biased to increasing density in existing neighborhoods withlittle regard to the wishes of the citizens of those neighborhoods. Moreover, Egge ran
previously for a seat on the City Commission and was rejected by voters.
Jason Delemue is an infill developer who seems to view every yard as wasted space that isripe for development. I believe that Delemue would represent the wishes of developers above
the wishes of the citizens of Bozeman.
Clearly, the very strong and negative public response in September and October to theproposed new UDC shows a high level of discontent with the up-zoning that would be allowed
under that proposed code. Yet, at the same time almost everyone recognizes the need for moreabundant and affordable housing. Please appoint a new Commissioner that will help us find
an acceptable balance.
Thank you for your service to the City and your consideration of my comments above.
