November 21, 2023 RE: Commissioner Appointment Mayor Andrus and Commissioners: Support for Jason Delmue, current Community Development Board member Jason in his current capacity on the Community Development Board has gained the necessary experience and familiarity with both the housing issues facing our nation, and moreimportantly, a good working relationship with our City Staff who will be implementing theCommissioners goals. Jason is open minded to well-conceived ideas, does not bring the baggage of outside ofBozeman ideology into our community. Bozeman needs a Commissioner who supports the equity created, added to our communityby our young entrepreneurial generation. Look at the many start-ups created in town which have provided local goods and services, well paying jobs while reaching out to nation-wide markets. We need a Commisssioner who understands that all these businesses started with one dreamer who grew their vision in spite of regulatory hurdles, hires our children while addingintellectual rigor to our community. It is the hard work and personal initiative of these youngerresidents who have created a sustainable future for Bozeman. We need a Commissioner who represents the interests and personal growth of both ourTrades, ie Gallatin Community College, as well as MSU researchers who also depend on our local trades to build research labs. The key success factor is that Bozeman remains a place forone to achieve their chosen dream and occupation. We all have equal opportunity to achieveour dreams, of course outcomes will vary based on our unique abilities and hard workinitiative. To support our lifestyle choices, please select a Commissioner, like Jason, who understandsthe motivations to create a new business, financial implications (friction) of City policy, and has a track record of adding value to our community. Appreciate your thoughtful consideration for Jason Delmue. Thank you, George Thompson, Bozeman resident
