Dear Mayor and Commissioners, I am writing with a letter of support as you consider individuals to fill Commissioner Pomeroy's seat on the Bozeman City Commission. For approximately eight years I served onthe Bozeman Area Bicycle Advisory Board alongside Jason Delmue. In 2011 Jason and I formed the leadership team that prepared a case for adjusting parking along the Peach Streetcorridor between Rouse and 7th Ave in order to create room for a much needed (and now much loved) bicycle lane. This was a careful process requiring placating stakeholders, working within the rules and laws of street design, and securing funding. It was a small victory in the tight downtown corridor but worthy of note as getting something changed insaid tight corridor is often a difficult proposition at best. Jason has been a long time resident of Bozeman and has seen it from a multitude of perspectives including the post 2008 recession years, the rapidly climbing real estate years thatfollowed, the other-worldly influx of new residents during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the turbulent times we are currently in. Jason's background practicing law provides him anincredibly stable perspective and I've never known him to act without very careful consideration of all facts from all perspectives. He is a man of reason and compromise and hishistory of public service in Bozeman has him well poised to fill a remaining term on the Commission and beyond. Sincerely,Sam Haraldson 211 Lindley Place
