Hello Commissioners, The purpose of this email is to offer up my support for Jason Delmue, one of the applicants under consideration for appointment to the City of Bozeman’s open Commission seat. Jason has generously volunteered his time for many years in varying roles in our community. We served together on the Bozeman Area Bicycle Advisory Board (BABAB) between 2018 and 2020. In those two years, I observed Jason tirelessly pushing for safer and smarter transportation infrastructure across the Bozeman area. I’ve heard of concerns swirling around regarding the appointment of “a developer” on the Commission, à la the fox guarding the hen house. Jason is not an out-of-state speculator backed by Wall Street. He is the person riding his cruiser bike with studded tires while wearing a ski helmet and goggles in the winter around town and that has called Bozeman home for decades. If development is going to happen regardless, I’d rather it be by someone with deep roots in our community, with the time and energy to volunteer, and who holds a keen awareness of both what makes Bozeman special and the challenging issues currently facing our community. Several years ago, Jason told me that he not only regularly attends and provides comment at Commission meets but that he enjoys it. I recognize what a thankless job the position is at times and I support someone that has already demonstrated a commitment to serving our community. In closing, I think that Jason will not only ask tough questions, he will commit himself to collaborating with others and spending whatever time it takes to work towards viable solutions. While he may not enter into this role with a full understanding of each and every resident’s needs and perspectives, I have no doubt that he will remain open and available to anyone in our community needing to be heard. Thank you for considering my letter of support and for your own commitment to serving the City of Bozeman. Sincerely, Danae Giannetti512 Sweetgrass AveBozeman, MT 59178
