Dear City Commissioner’s,
I would like to write a letter of support for Angie Kociolek for the upcoming City Commissioner seat.
Angie has lived in Bozeman for the past 28 years and has seen many changes to Bozeman, the good,
the bad and the ugly. She is a graduate of Montana State University, earning her master’s degree in
biology and then worked as a research scientist at Western Transportation Institute (WTI) where she
worked on many local issues pertaining to wildlife mitigation strategies for helping animals cross
infrastructure such as roads and railroads.
After working for many years at WTI, Angie changed focus and got her license to practice
acupuncture here in Bozeman and opened Rootstock Acupuncture that she currently owns and
manages. Over the years, Angie has served on several boards and is a member of the Urban Parks
and Forestry Board. She is quite knowledgeable of the intricacies of how city governments operate.
I worked with Angie when she was at WTI and have found her to be hardworking, smart, honest and
very collaborative to work with. Her experience in both private business and working with non-
profits adds a level of expertise that the City Commission would benefit from. She is a long-time
resident of Bozeman and could speak to the many changes she has seen and provide important
leadership and a willingness to listen critically to all sides of the many important issues that Bozeman
is facing. It would also be nice to see another woman on the commission. Angie would be a great
asset to the City Commission board.
Sincerely,
April Craighead
