Good afternoon,
Not sure if this note will make it to you in time, as the meeting is in an hour.
I read the Chronicle article about the proposed hotel and parking garage adjacent to the library.
Empirically, I understand that Bozeman is now a resort town, given over to the 1%-10% and their families and
friends. Yet, I cling to the notion that our beloved community and its public spaces and places will not be
completely subsumed by the wealthy who wish to have swanky places to stay and exclusive places to park on what
was formerly the general public’s domain.
My sweet dog, Lolo, and I frequently use the library trail and parking lot. I enjoy the library itself. It’s one of the
few egalitarian places left in Bozeman. I work for a non-profit and my paycheck is well below what is regarded as a
living wage for the valley. I cherish the places I can still go and not feel like an outsider in my hometown. Those are
becoming fewer and fewer by the week.
I don’t have a recommendation for you other than to put the quality of our community members' lives above the
wishes of wealthy out of state companies.
Thanks for doing what you do!
Wishing you well,
Kris Fedro
