To the Bozeman Library Board,
The Bozeman Public Library is one of the most beautiful, and functional public libraries I have ever seen. The
building and its environs are a welcoming space to all who enter there. While the building itself is the obvious focal
point, the entire Library grounds consist of open space and offer easy access and egress, as well as space to enjoy
the beauty of the site.
To facilitate the construction of yet another boutique hotel in downtown Bozeman by effectively destroying much of
the ambiance of our Library would be, in my opinion, tantamount to a criminal act. A high rise building right next
door, combined with a huge parking facility immediately adjacent to our Library, Will completely change the
character of the Bozeman Public Library.
Finally, if future expansion of our Library becomes necessary, which is likely, logically, this expansion might be
upward, which would be prohibited by this proposal, to “preserve the view space” of the hotel property. Let them
build their hotel somewhere else, NOT on the grounds of our Public Library! After all, does downtown Bozeman
really need yet another overpriced hotel?
Thank you for refusing this proposal, and maintaining the best Public Library in the northwest intact!
