Dear Trustees:
I understand that you will have a meeting with hotel developers on 11/15/23. From what I've
read of the proposal, there is a big ask from the developers and nothing much in return for thelibrary or the public that has supported the library through taxes and donations for years.
I don't think there is a big demand for covered parking - we're used to snow and inclement
weather. The notion that library patrons could use the garden on the roof of a parking structureif accompanied by a library staff member is ludicrous and insulting. The proposed $1 per year
lease is literally worthless.
The developers can build their hotel and include underground parking. They can put theirgarden on the hotel's rooftop. These are their problems, not issues for the community to solve
for them. Please just say "no" and retain public property and the rights that go along with it forthe Bozeman community.
