As a visitor to the library 3-4 days a week, I have never had an issue with parking. There is street parking in the
front and a lot in the back that is regularly accessed by many patrons of the library and the walking trail. This
proposal seems motivated by non-library visitors simply looking for parking opportunities on Main Street. Why is
the library lot the location for this? There is space across Main that could become a parking garage. The suggestion
of a $1 lease is incredibly disingenuous at a time when everyone knows land is expensive! This company should
consider a more robust business plan that doesn’t involve usurping space from a community resource. This proposal
seems to have no necessary benefit other than giving the proposer rights to build parking at a substandard cost and
then make money at a premium. Our community doesn’t need this building or this type of developer mindset.
