Hello Susan,
I am unable to attend the meeting, however, I would like to add my voice to the conversation.As a past-president and former member of the library board for six years, I am writing to
strongly encourage the board to not accept the New York firm’s parking proposal. Our libraryis an integral part of the fabric of this community. To disrupt access would impact families
and patrons on a broad scale. As a board member, I was proud to assist in fundraising effortsto increase access for our growing community. While the Main Street location is convenient
for people who live in town who can visit the library by walking or on bicycles, the scope ofour patronage expands far beyond the Bozeman city limits. As a result, the library needs our
dedicated parking. Our library is a vibrant public space. Allowing a for-profit entity toencroach on such an important part of our community would be detrimental to all the hard
work that has gone into making it a reality and the community members who rely upon accessto it. Please vote to reject this proposal and keep our library access for the public, as it should
be.
