The Bozeman Public Library is not just a building filled withbooks and other media materials that inform, educate, andentertain the community it serves. It is a place where
members of the community can gather to discuss important
issues impacting the city of Bozeman and the surroundingarea. It is a place where people can gather for enjoyment andenrichment of their lives. The commitment of the Bozeman
Public Library to its community-building goal is demonstrated
by its recent investment in a renovation project that increasesthe spaces for community to gather.
For the past 3 years, the ability of the community to enjoy thelibrary space has been limited, first by the COVID 19 pandemicand more recently by those renovations to the building. Only
now, are we, the library patrons able to fully utilize this
amazing facility to its full extent.
To allow the construction of a parking garage, not now needed
by the library, will create further disruption and inconvenienceto library patrons. It will delay the renewed sense amonglibrary patrons that the library is a meeting place where all are
welcomed and encouraged to gather.
We, the library patrons, need to reacquaint ourselves to the
library as a center of our community. We do not need a
parking garage that benefits a private business and not thelibrary.
