Hi All,
I am writing to voice my opinion on the proposed leasing of public land to a private LLC for the outrageous price of
$1.00 per annum. I think it is a huge mistake! The library will lose its open and airy atmosphere when a parking
garage and high rise hotel box it in from the west. It seems like such a short-sighted mistake, and irrevocable.
While not a city resident, I own several homes within city limits. My address would suggest that I live in Bozeman,
which I have for thirty years, but am south and west of the limits. My family and I were part of the book brigade that
transferred the children’s book department from the old library to the new one. I donate to the foundation, and have
taken my children and grandchildren to story time.
I can’t imagine why you or anyone, for that matter, would entertain such a misguided proposition. Here’s hoping
that higher angels prevail in this situation, and that the ultimate decision is to scrap this terrible deal.
