Dear Library Board,I am writing to encourage you to never, never ever for any reason relinquish even a single
square foot of public property for anything other than public uses.I've been a library patron for 41 years and currently use the library 1-3 times a week.
The real estate associated with the library is an immensely valuable public resource that needsto be retained.
Regardless of any short or supposed long-term benefits, to allow any commercial use woulddo a disservice to current and future residents and library patrons.
Please keep many future generations in mind when making your decisions. If a new parkingstructure is needed for the library, let us raise the money to build it.
Please do not even consider negotiating with commercial developers to make a deal with ourvaluable public resource.
