I’ve been houseless for a year now. I am a leader in Bozeman Tenants United. I live in a camper, I work as a
carpenter, and I pay my taxes. When I turned 16 I got emancipated, got my driver’s license, and got my first
apartment. I was raised by a hardworking single mother of 9 kids, so I moved out of the nest as fast as possible to
make it easier on her. I went to high school, and every day I got out and went straight to work. I’ve worked all my
life. I started my first construction company when I was 26 years old. I moved to Bozeman from Butte, and the
company that was paying me laid us off before I could find stable housing. I bought my camper to survive the harsh
winter. We are doing the best we can out here. We have already asked you to vote no on Ordinance 2147, but as
long as we are making amendments, we should make this Ordinance as minimally harmful as possible. Amend the
30 day time limit to 180 days.
