Hello, I appreciate the dedication and hard work of the city of Bozeman’s elected officials and staff. Thank you for imposing some reasonable restrictions on VRBOs. I am concerned, as I’m sure that you are, about the prevalence of trailers in neighborhoods around the city, including on my residential street. Some are occupied by people who are camping in non-camping areas; others are simply parked and left on neighborhood streets where the parking is “free” as opposed to storing them in one of many storage facilities in Bozeman. If unchecked, the preponderance of trailers will have the effect of diminishing both our property values and the enjoyment of our homes and neighborhoods. I realize there are cases of genuine hardship. But many of the trailer/camper occupants I have observed appear to be less impoverished than they are adverse to paying camping fees or storage fees for their vehicles. The city of Bozeman should restrict camping in vehicles to designated campgrounds. In addition, those of us who pay taxes to maintain our homes, streets and sidewalks should not have to share our neighborhood streets with parked, unoccupied trailers for unlimited periods of time. Many of these trailers are unsightly. An unhitched trailer has been parked for more than a week at 568 Enterprise Blvd. The old vehicle has the brand “Gray Wolf” and no license plate. How long is it allowed to remain across the street from our South Rows condo? Its appearance is decrepit and it impairs the aesthetics of our neighborhood. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Betsey Weltner 550 Enterprise Blvd., Unit 20 Bozeman, MT 59718 406-581-5882
