I am writing with concerns over the city vote for ordinance 214.
The rights of property owners is being limited and this is not in the Montana sprit
Renters of short term are providing a service to the people who come mostly as families to take advantage of hiking,
fishing, skiing, and all of Montana’s best.
I have also rented to traveling nurses and those who do not fit the narrative of motel living.
As I understand, we have new laws which have brought forward owners intending to follow the laws- we do not
have the data even to know if those are working.
The number I heard at the last meeting of 24,500 home and 320 short term rentals seems to not move the matrix to
any extent that news laws would merit any attention.
We as citizens and the town of Bozeman should work together in order to have a path forward - A vote to stop any
viable short term rental will cause us to fall well short of working together-
I ask you to vote No on Ordinance 2149
Thanks you
John Ahrens
