Dear Bozeman City Commission,
My wife and I own a condo in Four Corners that is a short term rental property. During thepast five years, in addition to having the opportunity to stay there ourselves and visit our
children and grandchildren, we have received feedback from numerous families that haveenjoyed their stay in our condo in the Bozeman area. The tourist industry has a huge impact on
the Bozeman economy. The short term rentals that are well maintained and managed provide areasonable and attractive market for families to spend time (and their money) skiing, hiking,
dining, etc. The problem of affordable housing in the Bozeman area is real, but would not be solved by
passing Ordinance 2149. I urge you to vote NO on this ordinance. I believe other, moreeffective ways to address the affordable housing issue can be developed. I also believe there
are reasonable requests that can be implemented with the short term rental properties to verifythey are being managed responsibly.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We love the Bozeman area and look forward tomany years of enjoying the beauty of Montana in your community.
Sincerely, Todd Witmer
