Good Afternoon, I'm contacting you regarding the controversy over STR and the impact on my family and me.My husband and I bought a condo in Bozeman in 2021, as a second home. Between us, we have 6 adult children, who all LOVE outdoor activities! This has been an amazing 2 years for our family! Between our children and us, we are able to enjoy the beautiful hiking and skiing thatBozeman provides, multiple times/year. In fact, we just got back to PA late last night, after our most recent stay in Bozeman.My nephew and his wife and three children live in Manhattan, so we get to see them when we're in town, as well. As you can imagine, they aren't able to travel east very often with 3young children, so we treasure our time with them when we are in Bozeman. Our condo is in Type 2 zone, so when we don't have it reserved for our own usage, we make itavailable to guests through AirBnB. We rent far less than the 180 days we are allowed.We are licensed through the city, and have our health accommodations license as well. We pay taxes and have operated 100% legally.We also provide employment for my nephew's wife, as she cleans it and does laundry in preparation for guests.Without the ability to operate as a Type 2 STR, we would not be able to provide these experiences for our family, nor enjoy them ourselves. We would ask that you give consideration to those who are operating on a very small scale, like us, and those who have followed the rules and been respectful of the city's requirements.We would be heart-broken to lose this opportunity.
