Dear City Commission,
I have been a resident real estate appraiser in the Bozeman Area for the past 32 years. I am asking you to vote NO on Ordinance 2149.
I am in favor of grandfathering ALL existing STR, and allowing Type 3 STR in business and
commercial Zoning districts. It does not make sense to allow hotels (out of state corporationsreaping the financial benefit) while not allowing Type 3 STR.
I oppose changing STR hosts to live in their home for 70% of the year. Placing restrictions on
homeowners will make it harder for them to afford their homes. Requiring owners to bepresent during the tenant's entire stay is ridiculous and impossible to implement
In summary, the Ordinance 2149 will not solve the affordable housing issue. The city should
be focusing on how to develop more affordable housing projects in the city with low incomespecialists/developers.
