I vote no for Ordinance 2149
The below is a survey of the following questions:
1.. Do you live in Bozeman? I live in Bozeman2. Do you live in Montana? Yes, I live in Montana
3. Have you ever rented your home or other property on a short-term basis? Yes, we
have rented out some of our other properties for short-term rental uses. It
allows families to visit our community for a lower cost per night and morecomfortable accommodations.
4. Have you ever stayed in a short-term rental like Airbnb, VRBO, etc. (an “STR”)
when traveling?I typically rent Airbnb or Vrbo when traveling because we
have four kids and need the extra space and beds5. Do you want to have the option of staying in an STR when traveling?Yes, STRs
need to be an option for travelers coming to Bozeman. We have had
children in sports and youth tournaments, hotel rates make it cost-
prohibitive for many families traveling to the area. The loss of thesevisitors will impact all industries that benefit from tourism including but not
limited to restaurants, youth tournament fundraising, and retail.
6. Do you think the City should allow STRs in Bozeman? Yes, The city should
allow STRs. The study the commission paid to have completed, which waspaid for by taxpayers, indicates that eliminating STRs will not solve or
impact affordable housing. Taking away the property rights of STR owners
to rent out their properties impacts them financially. It seems the city
commission is putting their own personal agendas to eliminate STRs infront of the the data or the best interest of STR owners.
I vote No for the Ordinance 2149
