When I bought my first (Wilson St), second (S Third), and third (Grafs) homes I assumed zoning. And all three realtors emphasized that I understand andfollow it (eg no renters) and I have. ***Question: How do you plan to compensate me for the decline in the life-quality and monetary value associated with changes in contracted zoning (and enforcement) in myneighborhood? If you don't, your action is 'a taking (stealing)' ,immoral, at least. ***Most any realtor will agree that such changes will occur. An example (generalized below) lies in the (zone R1) home next to mine which was converted from a single family to sixapartments. 1) Maintenance of the building is declining. 2) While I like the students - - largely due to parking, we receive USPS notices that garbage and mail access are unacceptable. Thisis especially bad in winter when numerous cars parked on both sides of the street narrow it to inhibit snow removal and make it unsafe. 3) One recoils at the effect of a multi-storyapartment building a neighbor contemplates. 4) One can generalize the problem by looking across Highland Blvd to changes that have occurred/are occurring in the 'tree street' area. ***Who will benefit from the 'stolen zoning'? If the property is not modified, perhaps the newowner and the sharing renters -- ie an enforced gift/transfer from me to them. If new building occurs, mostly the developer, who even in low income neighborhoods, sells most of the newhouses at market value . that is, unaffordable to low income individuals- - ie an enforced gift from me to the developers. How is either justified? ***T Weaver, 824 O'Connel Dr, Bzn Mt 59715. weaverTad0@gMail.com
