Banning Type III STR's will do little to help alleviate the housing crisis here in the Gallatin Valley. But if you must:Please consider grandfathering those legal licensed Type III STR's at least 5 years old to remain in operation and ban future units. I have young neighbors, Bozeman residents that playa vital part in our community that are reliant on this managed income to live. The City of Bozeman as well as the entire county must find the resources to eliminate or fineall the illegal unlicensed operations in existence regardless of type I, II or III. Until then this ordinance will not be effective and you are just penalizing those that have abided by theregulations. Vacant rental units in the area seems to indicate that housing is not so much the problem as therental prices themselves and there is no assurance that these Type III will be turned into affordable housing. I do hope that if Type III STR's are eliminated those houses will be on themarket and purchased by those that will become an integral part of our community for the long term. Sincerely Retired Bozeman resident on an extremely small fixed-income and Type II STR ownerJanis Maclean
