Dear Bozeman City Commissioners,
1. Please vote NO on the current proposed ordinance prohibiting more short term rentals.
2. You have already passed a few months ago Ordinance 2131 which requires short term rentals to operate with acity license. Why don’t you allow that ordinance to be enforced in order to reduce the number of short term rentals? Why are you in such a rush to pass another ordinance without understanding the effects of the previous ordinance? Please allow that previous ordinance to work before you rush into another ordinance against short term rentals.
3. Please do not stop local Montana property owners from making ends meet by operating all types of tourist homes.Property taxes in Gallatin County have more than doubled in ten years and short term rentals of all types help paytaxes that keep the city of Bozeman and local schools functioning while also employing many people in service jobsacross Bozeman and Gallatin County. Please consider the damaging effects of this ordinance on property owners ofBozeman rather than just some possible benefits for those who want to rent.
Thank you for your consideration,David & Jacquie Landis313 S 6fh AveBozeman
