I am a property owner in Bozeman but live in another county. I am considering moving to Bozeman but reviewing my options first. With increasesin taxes, assessments, etc I thought it possible to rent a room occasionally, which I've done at my current residence.I believe this is Type I. But no, the fees imposed would be more than Iwould make as I would do it occasionally. Most people who rent out Type I are simply trying to make ends meet. In reviewing room rentals available I see how much they have increased incost and how few are available. Also, while my two children were in school at MSU I often stayed in Airbnb rooms and small rentals. I simply could not afford to stay in hotels, which as you know are very expensive and Ineed the option to cook. What are ordinary people to do when you take away this option? I understand that the rental situation is difficult, but with so many rentals being built this should ease up. The new rules (and current ones) won't have much impact and only makeBozeman more elitist and difficult for families and tourists to visit, and home ownership further out of reach. I would send this to the staff at Community Development but I was not able to locate anyemail addresses. I must have missed an earlier public comment protocol. Regards, Dori Brownlow
