Please consider this! STRs are a huge resource and desirable alternative to a hotel room.

We bought a house in Bozeman in 2016 when our grandchildren were born so we could spend
time with them, (travelling from Oregon) and so we could retire in Bozeman some day. To make it
affordable, we rent out as a STR following all the rules. We are located between MSU and
downtown and our guests are often parents of MSU students. They appreciate having a home &
meals to share with their kids rather than a hotel room. Our community in Bend OR has also dealt
with STR's, although not by banning a valuable resource, but by limiting the volume allowed per
block. No one wants a neighborhood of transient visitors, but STR's fill a huge need for travellers.
If we didn't own this house in Bozeman, we would be looking for a home (STR) to use while
visiting family in the area. Is Bozeman going to make this unavailable?
