Hello
I am writing to voice my opinion on short term vacation rentals.
I hope you can look at this from a more objective angle.
If you limit vacation rentals, you are limiting my ability to own my house in the town I grew up in.
If I am unable to rent my house out short term while I am working out of town for the summer, I will be forced to
sell my house.
I will not be selling it for an affordable rate for someone seeking under the market rate housing.
I will not be renting it long-term.
I will move away from my hometown I’ve lived and worked in for more than 50 years.
Limiting vacation rentals will not solve your problem of not having enough affordable housing.
It will only force more people who grew up here to move away.
Please do more research and figure out ways to actually increase affordable housing.
You need to look at the developers who are making money selling out our town.
