Thank you to Cindy for coming to my house last Sunday and allowing the time to answer my
questions. Among other things, we talked about the change to B3 zoning and I would likesome clarification on that. I have heard from reasonable people that the zones that were
changed to B3 had no input. Neighbors have said that a notice was placed in the paper aboutthe change and then the commissioners voted on it. I would appreciate knowing if there is
more to this.
I really hope that all of you will slow down on the UDC and convene neighborhood meetingswhere we can all work on how to honestly increase affordable housing, not just units. I hope
that you have received the data on zoning in San Diego. Can you point to any data that showsa smaller, very desirable town increasing numbers of units that leads to actual affordable
units?
A number of people think you will keep R1 and R2 as one zone, but how about keeping R4 asone zone. Drop the R5 addition. That is extreme. The B3 areas are filling in so wait and
see what the results are. It's not like the USA Bank. We can't go back and correct a hideousdecision when it will be exploited by developers. How about incentives for people who rent
their ADU's long term instead of incentives to developers? We need to work together as atown of citizens. Thanks, Mary Lou Osman
