Loeb - Community Development Board Meeting 10_10 CDBFrom:Jeff Loeb To:Agenda Subject:[EXTERNAL]Community Development Board Meeting 10/10 Date:Wednesday, October 11, 2023 6:51:40 AM CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Bozeman Community Development Board: I viewed the meeting last night via video link, though did not provide public comment. I am not writing to rant but rather to gain clarity. I am confused as to the next steps coming fromlast night's meeting, for example: - I thought I heard that the committee was going to convene offline to do something...what was it? Is it to hold 1 more meeting...or 2 or 3 and when? When will a Committee voteoccur? All this is not clear to me. - Given the overriding importance of the new UDC and emotional public comment to date, don't residents need to see and then have time to digest any proposed text changes followed byanother opportunity of Public Comment (to the proposed changes) prior to any Development Board voting? Isn't this common sense? - Who can I contact in regard to what (if any) text modifications to the UDC have been madein regard to fraternities and sororities? There were multiple comments on this last night (and at the earlier public hearing) and yet I am unaware of any edits along these lines. I just wantto know who to contact to gain clarity as to whether any text edits have been made so far and whether they will be treated as a separate use or lumped into Group Living...and, if lumpedinto Group Living what is the criteria directing how they are to be treated, approved, policed, etc. This is not an "also ran" issue to me and many others as evidenced by public comment todate (refer to Kathy Powells comments last night - she was the last to speak via video). You have a difficult job, but the UDC issue more than any issue the City faces deserves the proper amount of time for review, thought and collaboration between public and City. Pleasedo not rush this through without allowing for the full vetting of this important decision. Thank you. Jeff Loeb
