Downtown Bozeman and the surrounding neighborhoods are already a 15 minute community!
Where will the NEXT downtown be?
With invisible infill already allowed in zones R-1, R-2, and R-3 (cottage housing, ADU's,basement apartments, duplexes and even up to 5 units in current R-3) we have plenty of room
to grow under existing code.
What we need from the new code, in order to decrease traffic congestion, and create liveablecommunities in the wider Bozeman area is mixed use zoning. I think the UDC is attempting
to allow for that.
But you're going about it in the wrong way!
We need walkable, bikeable, amenities near existing sprawl neighborhoods so that everyone
doesn't need to drive into Downtown Bozeman.
Out South 19thOut by the new high schoolOut HuffineN. 7th is doing its part, but be careful of impacts on existing residential neighborhoods inmidtown!
Downtown Bozeman works the way it is, but we have too many people trying to use it! Grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, and music venues could be so well placed, outin the suburbs to reduce congestion in Downtown.
Please scrap the UDC as it is and go back to the drawing board with more targeted solutions.
