Hi,
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my objection to the City's proposed change to the current
zoning.
Every since learning about the proposed changes, it has created considerable anxiety, lack of sleep,
anger, disbelief, and frustration while trying to understand the implications these changes would have on
my beautifully charming neighborhood, one of the core neighborhoods that has defined Bozeman for
nearly 125 years! In fact, as I contemplated how to express my feelings I was reminded of the current
plead by the City to conserve water use and how that parallels the need to conserve another wonderful
Bozeman resource - our historic core neighborhoods. I'm a little shell shocked that I have to ask to
preserve these neighborhoods, considering how central they are to Bozeman's identity but these
neighborhoods, like the need to preserve our limited water resources, are in serious threat of changing
forever. Now is a critical time to step up, listen to the public, take more time to consider how to approach
change and preserves this precious resources!
I'm pleading with you - do not just settle on an "easy way out" and allow this measure to pass. Give the
process more time to come up with a truly unique plan that conserves our neighborhoods and puts
Bozeman citizens first.
Thank you for your time,
Lawrence Sampson
