I am writing in opposition to the zoning change being considered by the city of Bozeman. I
have lived in Bozeman since 1965 and have owned a home near MSU since 1988. I believethe proposed RA and RB zoning districts would destroy the character of Bozeman’s
neighborhoods and have no impact whatsoever on the affordable housing problem inBozeman. Since the city cannot require developers to build affordable housing units, this
zoning change would likely create even more luxury apartments unaffordable to most peoplethat live and work in Bozeman. Infill can be done responsibly and on a small scale in keeping
with the character of existing neighborhoods. Allowing the construction of huge apartmentbuildings in neighborhoods of single family homes is not the answer to Bozeman’s affordable
housing problem. I would urge the city officials to slow down and reconsider this zoningchange.
Thank you,
