While I am in favor of finding ways to solve the affordable housing crisis in Bozeman tohouse our fellow CITIZENS of our town, I am opposed to the proposed re-zoning changes that combine R-1, R-2, and R-3 into an R-A zone that allows up to 8 dwelling units on a lot. Thisrule change risks destroying the character and composition of older, downtown Bozeman neighborhoods that are not protected by subdivision covenants. Please do not pass this proposal as currently written. We should not allow large apartmentcomplexes to be built in existing, single family home, residential neighborhoods. Instead 1. Continue the practice of allowing ADU and loosening restrictions on creating this kindof housing. This strategy actually seems to be working. 2. Ban short-term rentals in Bozeman.3. Provide incentives for building more dense construction and affordable housing in NEW DEVELOPMENTS where everybody involved can opt-in to the type of neighborhoodthat is getting constructed, and properties being purchased. Neighborhoods comprised of existing, single family homes should not be touched. Thank you for your consideration,Erich Hannan 702 S 6thBozeman resident since 1999
