Hello Commissioners: There has been a good deal of comparison between our current zoning and the newly proposed zoning. I think many of us in the old historic parts of Bozeman were unaware of howunprotected we were with the old zoning . . . which, when Bozeman was a sleeply little college town, did not result in too much over-building, but with the new developmentpressures we are facing today, we need more protection. Personally, I think 2 stories/3 units per lot (eg a duplex + an ADU) should be the max in our historic neighborhoods. Could someone tell me how best to propose or advocate for somethinglike this as an alternative to the way the current UDC is being presented ? Two other points/questions: 1. Does the 40% limit on building size per lot take into account the parking lots needed fora building? I hope that most of the green space surrounding them will not be parking lots. Not sure how the regulations read about that issue but to me parking either needs tobe underground or covered so that it is part of the 40% limit on any lot. We need to preserve green space!2. This issue is significant enough that I think it will be the deciding factor for many voters when it comes time to choose our next mayor. And as I understand it both JoeyMorrison and John Meyer are against the UDC as it is being proposed AND against over-developing our downtown area. I would like to know what Cyndy's thoughts are onthis. I am not a single issue voter, and I understand the competing pressures put on the commision, but I strongly oppose allowing the kind of development that the UDC wouldgreen light for our little neighborhood - esp since so many other parts of Bozeman have covenants to protect them from such over-building. Thanks for your time, and if anyone can respond to my points I'd appreciate it! Sincerely,Lori Lori Goss Lawson
