Greeting city leaders
You were elected to lead so please, do it. Bozeman still has a city full of residents that still care about Bozeman and
it’s charm and small town feel. When it fills up with people who fill the units that are proposed in this new code,
Bozeman will lose that charm and small town feel.
The proposed “unified development code” is ANYTHING but unified. It is EVERYTHING for developers and real
estate agents and NOTHING for the houses and homes, and owners and renters, that pay the property taxes for your
budget.
The presentation by the Austin consultant was SLICK. He used digital images that made it look like the proposed
code would blend 8 or more unit complexes into existing single family neighborhoods but did it with all 2 plus story
models. And the units are like 600 square feet. Come on get real. That’s enough room for an out-of-towner to leave
a pair of skis and an expensive jacket.
Ms Madgic is on record, at the debate, saying that this zoning happened too quickly and that it’s a bad deal.
It’s a BAD deal.
Get a handle on development. It’s NOT a good thing.
Why hand Bozeman to developers?
Why not fight The Legislation forcing this zoning change instead of fighting with your constituents.
This zoning change is a short sighted bad deal for current property tax paying home owners. Please!
DO NOT PASS THIS NEW UNIFIED CODE.
I live at 222 S 13th Ave and have owned the house since 2002. It is in a vulnerable location to this zoning change. I
am a proponent of affordable housing but NOT a proponent of handing development to developers.
There has to be a better way. SLOW DOWN and be open to different ideas. Please.
And help the people living in trailers that cannot afford to live in Bozeman due to all the expensive real estate built
by developers. Don’t make them move every 30 days. They are humans living in unhoused conditions. Please don’t
make that worse.
Thank you.
