Who benefits from the current approach? From the meeting I went to it sounds like
only the developers and builders.
Strongly opposed to rezoning for the following reasons:
1. State of Montana made changes and Bozeman has 3 years to act on the changes.
WHY rush???
2. Proposed zoning is out of step with the residential character of the surrounding
neighborhoods for North and South Bozeman -
3. Rezoning from R-1 to R-2, leave R-3 alone and use R-5 call them new names if
you must. is 4. This sounds like and looks like developers are the ones who benefit. Why such an
'aggressive approach?'
5. The neighborhoods affected are the old parts of Bozeman and the areas that do
not have HOA covenants. How are you protecting these people and neighborhoods?6. Water
7. Infrastructure upgrades for higher density in these areas.
8. Fire Safety is a potential issue with such a dense development in areas with small
streets.9. - What benefit to the community have all the 4+ story luxury condos done for the
current residents.
- they do not provide housing
10. Why RUSH - elections, possibly new commissioners - 3 years to makechanges.....
Will the rezoning provide more profit for developers and less housing for current
Bozeman residents?
Is re-zoning like this a consistent practice within the planning and development department ofBozeman? Is this the direction Bozeman is going? Is this the will of the people or the will ofthe planning department with the encouragement of developers?
Keep Bozeman about community, consistent codes with consistent neighborhoods
and steward our land and resources well. For the future of Bozeman. Growth isinevitable but wise, conservative growth that matches the neighborhoods and
community feel will benefit Bozeman in years, decades to come.
