To Whom It May Concern:
I write this email knowing my feedback will have very little bearing on the project. But I
would like my voice to be heard.
My husband and I bought our condo in 2007 as a starter home. Never imagining we would stillbe here so many years later. We bought into our condo project, thinking it would be a great
neighborhood as it grew.
Due to our project not being able to complete, and due to the financial downturn, the land wassold and redeveloped as nothing even close to what the original project was supposed to be.
After this condo project is complete on Catalyst, we will have lost our view and light on allsides due to three story units being approved. I totally get it. The cost of progress. I'm lucky
to even have a home in Bozeman. I'm not on the street. However, the lack of neighborhoodfeel, the enormity of these buildings saddens me. The city overrides the Cattail association's
rules on building height in the name of infill. Yet, a drainage pond across the street has to bemodified to fit more buildings in. Awesome.
These three story units do nothing to encourage being neighborly either. When your living
space is on the second floor, and you are surrounded by a parking lot, why go outside and visitwith your neighbor. Why not build something someone actually wants to live in. Add some
more grass, and keep it two levels.
******My biggest concern with these is the lack of green space. The one garage space. Streetparking is already tough. Also, the snow removal space on the north side of this project. This
is where our snow is shoveled. So we would have to share the space. Last year we had somuch snow on that end that we lost half of our driveway access several times and had to have
it pushed back with a skid steer.
We also lost 12 feet of our backyard during the last project to make room for a sidewalk. Wehad to pay to have our 10 year old Maple tree relocated. I am hoping this tree will be spared
again and fit well within the boundaries of the new buildings. Maybe even be counted as atree credit for the new ones. It means a great deal to us, and I would hate to lose it.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
