Our primary home also has a Type 2 STR permit. Having an STR is imperative to my family being able to afford to
stay in Bozeman. I am a single mother with an adopted special needs 20 year old son. Due to my son's disabilities, I
have been unable to work for most of his life. Having the option to rent our home for part of the year allows me to
make up needed income to perform necessary maintenance to our home. Without the additional income this year
from the STR, painting the outside of the home would have been unaffordable. As my son is permanently unable to
work and I am aging, having income from the STR will be the only way to provide financial security for his future self.
It is imperative for our family's financial well being and security that we are allowed to continue to have a short term
rental to supplement our income, now and in the future. Please consider the long-term stability & well being of our
family as you make decisions that will impact our STR income potential.
