We presently live in R-2, and we have a six-apartment building just down the street. Thoseapartments generate most of the car traffic on our neighborhood streets. Duplexes make virtually no difference from single family houses, but buildings with more than two unitsmake a noticeable change in the character of our neighborhood, which has many small lots. Combining all of the existing residential zones into one homogenous zone will mean that neighborhoods with very different character and lot sizes will all be treated the same bydevelopers. The 3-story homes that are being built in our neighborhood have taken little to no consideration of their impacts on their smaller neighbors. I don’t believe one size will fit all, which is probably why there were different zones established in the first place. Thank you for your consideration.
