Dear Planning Board Members and City Commissioners, I am writing to you today on your proposal to change the R1,R2, and R3 zoning in the Bozeman city limits to RA. I moved to Bozeman and Gallatin County in 1979. I am amoderate liberal and I vote democrat. However, I cannot support your motives to change this zoning. Why can’t the planning board and more importantly the city commissioners, stand up todevelopers that only want to come into our community to make a profit. The people that voted in the city commissioners do not want you to make this zoning change and ruin ourneighborhoods, lifestyles, landscapes, and safety. The commissioners have not been listening very well as far back as the huge neighborhood fight against the tall building on the corner ofBlack and Olive. The neighborhoods on the north side of Bozeman have been torn apart so 3- 4 story, block long, apartment complexes could be built. The developers tore down “lowincome housing” and built million dollar apartments. How many people spoke out of the high density development that you approved on Story Mill and Bridger Drive. Was anyone evenlistening? Claiming to believe in climate change and global warming and then allowing hundred year old trees to be cut down for apartment complexes is not being responsible. These apartmentcomplexes radiate more heat, cause more runoff, change rainfall and snow patterns. You need to consider all of the effects of this zoning decision, not just housing. You need to considerthe environmental ecosystem and the human ecosystem! I wish the era of “Steve Kirchhoff” would come back. He wasn’t afraid to stand up for his beliefs and what his constituents believed. Rezoning to RA is not going to fix the housingproblem in Bozeman. It will just make the developers richer. Sincerely, Wendy Williams
