The irony of downtown Bozeman is that it seems to favor the ultra-wealthy
while desperately needing the services of the working class. Developers have
torn down the old hospital and in it's place want to build an extravagant new
residence where the owners are given the privilege of renting out their condos
as though they were motels. Meanwhile, their maids, housekeepers, and our
teachers, nurses, and downtown employees are left looking for
affordable housing and affordable gas to get them to their jobs. Something is
wrong with this arrangement, and it is time for the city council to favor those
who need their consideration.
