Hello City Council.
I've owned my Figgins neighborhood home for more than 2 decades, and purchased in thisneighborhood because it's quiet, I have a park right out the door, I meet and know most of my
neighbors, and I appreciate being able to bike or walk to my job at MSU. The proposed zoningchanges will damage neighborhoods like mine when developers buy nice homes and tear them
down for overcrowding streets, overusing resources like water/sewer, and over-implying thatit'll be affordable housing.
I drove by the new 3-story multi-family monstrosity on 8th and Alderson today. It looms over
homes that have been in that Cooper Park/MSU neighborhood for nearly a century AND itlooks to be taller than even Irving School! While the architecture might look nice at some
point, the impact on neighboring properties, and indeed the whole neighborhood is damaging.I firmly believe that a similar giant 3-story, multi-family hulking hunk of soulless concrete
will permanently damage the character of my Figgins neighborhood and indeed otherneighborhoods. All I have to consider is the ugly, expensive clod of metal and concrete Black
Olive that drove my friends to move out of Bozeman. Their backyard, the building mauled.Ruined, a neighborhood was, and the Black Olive suites are nothing close to affordable, nor
would 8-apartment, 3-story buildings in Figgins be affordable. Please do NOT pass a zoningchange.
