Yes, as one commentator said, "There was palpable fear in the room." Attention was given to the RA proposal but I wonder how many residentsrealize that R4 blocks sit across the street from them like the block I live on. R4 allows multi- family homes but not 24 units as it will with the changes. I live in the Bon Ton HistoricalDistrict and the answer to the question about what guidelines will exist with the changes is that the buildings will be required to have roofs! So each lot will allow 24 units??? That is indeeda radical change. Friends from other towns have told me that when zoning changes are proposed they receive a letter detailing the changes. You rely on the newspaper and it has alimited circulation. Slow down. Give the residents some time to weigh in on what will forever change their town. At least keep R4 at 8 units so we have a possibility of knowing ourneighbors and finding a parking spot. Please give the town time to learn what it is you plan to do. I have friends who live in Austin who are dismayed to hear that Bozeman plans toeliminate all of the charm like their commissioners did in Austin. Slow down. There is no hurry except for the developers. Can anyone answer me about continuing guidelines in thehistorical district ? Thank you, Mary Lou Osman
