I oppose Ord. 2147 strongly. Instead of using our energy finding solution to the housing crisis such as a housing
authority or social housing, we're spending valuable resources criminalizing the victims of the crisis. Removing the
houseless will not stop more from losing their homes. It will begin a cycle of sweeping and urban warfare between
the poor and the city as we've seen in other places across the country who use strategies like the ones proposed in
Ordinance 2147.
