Good morning,
My husband and I watched the public meeting last night. Here are someof our thoughts:
We knew nothing about this until a few days ago. Please be more
forthcoming with changes that are impactful to our city.
The community members who spoke were smart, articulate andmade excellent points. I'm grateful that I live alongside these
citizens.
The questions asked by the committee members were unclear and
confusing. It seemed like they were confused.Parking will be a problem with this new zoning proposal. If two
people live in a one-bedroom apartment, there will be two cars.
One parking space will not be enough.
I agree with many people who said that this is not a solution formore affordable housing. The oversized buildings in our historical
district will house luxury apartments that will be unaffordable to
most.
We live on Fieldstone near the new Cohousing development. Most of theneighborhood wanted more information before it was built and there were
many concerns. Our biggest concern was parking. We believe that the
developer underestimated the number of cars of the residents who will live
there. We did not want those residents to park on Fieldstone, Concordand Lexington. Our neighborhood association is strong and we will enforce
our parking restrictions.
Most of us felt unheard by the city commission when the Cohousingproject was going forward.
I hope that you will consider how Bozemanites feel as you explore the new
zoning proposals.
Sincerely,
