My name is Carl Anderson and I oppose Ordinance 2147. This is not the proper approach to
dealing with the homelessness problem in Bozeman. These folks are already down and out andstruggling so further punishment and fines are not going to enable them to improve their
situation. I understand where some residents are coming from when they express theirconcerns about the trash so maybe a better route is to address this problem specifically with
them but allow them to continue to live where they are so that they can get their feet underthem. Most of these folks are the workers of our city. We need to help them by not punishing
them and then continuing to work on all the possible solutions there are for creating moreaffordable housing so that this will cease to be an issue. Thank you.
