RE: Urban Camping Law Needed.
Dear Commissioners:
We urge you vote NOT to allow ANY urban camping or tent camping within the city of Bozeman
for the following reasons:
1. We the taxpaying citizens of Bozeman DESERVE safety and security wherever we, or our
children walk within this city.
2. We the taxpaying business owners of Bozeman deserve a CLEAN and SAFE city
environment around our businesses.
3. We citizens of Bozeman PAY our CITY TAXES so that you will provide us safety and
organization on our streets and within our city limits.
a. You regulate traffic and streets with laws and street lights!
b. You remove snow and abandoned cars on our city streets to keep roads safe.
c. Some busy streets are regulated by you for NO Parking. Some areas are 15
minute parking, some 1 hour parking, some are 2 hour parking........but NO areas
WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS should allow OVERNIGHT VEHICLE CAMPING OR TENT
CAMPING on city streets or unowned city lots! Sadly, people coming to
Bozeman with campers and tents will have to find authorized camping facilities
within the city limits......or find an area OUTSIDE of the city limits to camp!
4. We voters in Bozeman PAY OUR TAXES for city services from you like.......
City Police protection, fire protection, city schools, garbage removal, snow removal,
traffic and street regulation for safety. We even pay street and tree taxes to keep our
city beautiful! WE PAY TAXES FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY IN BOZEMAN..........and you are
obligated to provide that to all citizens in Bozeman.
We CANNOT allow tent camping and overnight vehicle camping in open areas of our city! It is
not SAFE! It is not FAIR to those of us who pay taxes and follow your expensive building codes
to keep our city beautiful!
We CANNOT allow loitering or tent camping in our downtown area.......or we will become like
San Francisco or Seattle! We CANNOT allow overnight vehicle camping for ANY days within our

city limits....or what good are our building codes? How will we clean our streets in the winter
when they are full of temporary home sites?
PLEASE VOTE NO ON ALL OVERNIGHT URBAN CAMPING AND TENT CAMPING WITHIN THE CITY
LIM ITS...........TO FOLLOW YOUR BUILDING CODES..........and KEEP Bozeman Safe and Beautiful!
Again, allowing a 3 or 5 day rotation rule will NOT clean up Bozeman.......it will just move around
the homelessness and camping problems to different streets every 3 or 5 days!
PLEASE consider ALL your efforts to keep Bozeman beautiful over the years. We pay more for so
many building projects..............we pay MORE to build our houses here..........because we AGREE
that we want to keep Bozeman SAFE and BEAUTIFUL! The citizens of Bozeman should only pay
our taxes and follow your building codes..........IF you do YOUR JOB and keep us SAFE......and
keep Bozeman BEAUTIFUL!
