HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 3038 In support of retaining MLCA in Bozeman: NOT ADOPTED -~ --~' .~---."- -- ~r' COMMISSION VOTED TO NOT ADOPT January 17. 1995 COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3038 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, IN SUPPORT OF EFFORTS TO RETAIN THE MONTANA LAW ENFORCEMENT ACADEMY IN BOZEMAN. WHEREAS, the Montana Law Enforcement Academy has outgrown its existing facilities; and WHEREAS, Gallatin County has adequate land upon which to construct a new facility in essentially the same location as the current facilities; and WHEREAS, the most economical solution for the State of Montana is in Bozeman; and WHEREAS, many in the community recognize the importance of retaining the Montana Law Enforcement Academy in Bozeman; and WHEREAS, these people are working on an economical public/private package to present to the Governor and the State of Montana; and WHEREAS, Bozeman has found an interim solution for the Academy's immediate needs which can be provided without disruption of services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, supports public and private efforts to retain the Montana Law Enforcement Academy in Bozeman. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at a regular session thereof held on the 17th day of January 1995. JOHN VINCENT, Mayor ATTEST: ROBIN L.
